We have two primary volunteer opportunities and on the volunteer form below you will be able to select which one(s) you want to help us with. You can volunteer to help us preserve the lighthouse, and you can volunteer to be a docent and give tours of the lighthouse to the general public.

As a volunteer preservationist, you will receive specific preservation training and you will have an opportunity to "get your fingernails dirty". If you have specific skills, such as carpentry or woodworking, electrical, welding, etc., please be sure to let us know in the "General Comments" section of the form. Special skills are not required, but we would like to know if you have any so we can better focus your volunteer hours.

As a volunteer docent, you will also be trained with all of the background material that you will need to know to be an effective and informed tour guide. Finally, you can also volunteer to help us with "other" activities. For example, we are always looking for volunteer boaters that could take other volunteers out to the lighthouse.

Or you could volunteer to help at some of our fundraising events. Or you might be good at grant writing. Just tell us more about what you are interested in by filling out the "General Comments" section of the form.

The amount of time you put in as a volunteer will be largely up to you, but we do request and expect at least one weekend a month for the preservation and docent volunteers because of the commitment we will be making to training and the need to have a stable and dependable "crew".
