United States Lighthouse Society 2006 Fundraising Campaign

The Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse is a National Historic Landmark, one of only nine lighthouses with this highest honor, as it is the last remaining and intact cottage-style screwpile lighthouse in the country located in its original offshore location. As lighthouse preservationists, lovers, educators, and historians... it belongs to all of us, and it is our collective responsibility to preserve it for generations to come. That is why the entire Society membership should be involved with this critically important undertaking.

Please help us reach our goal of $30,000 which will serve as a cash match to the $ 182,385 of grants we have been awarded, and will allow us to restore/preserve the iron and steel foundation of the lighthouse, to fabricate and install the operational enclosures that were designed last year, and to continue restoring several of the interior rooms to their ~1900 appearance.
